The Center is the College’s latest effort to offer quality child care to the community while educating future teachers. Similar to the College’s collaboration with the Little Maples Preschool, the BBC will serve as laboratory classroom for Adrian College teacher education students pursuing an early childhood education, or “ZS,” endorsement as part of their teaching certificates.

Chicago Blvd. in Tecumseh, opened May 28. In the month since then it has been off to a strong start even with not having its actual grand opening yet. “We just turned the signs on” and customers started finding them, said Regina Hernandez, who will manage the Madison Township restaurant while her husband, Isidro, oversees the new location.

As part of its overall approval of various projects throughout Michigan, the MSF said in a news release Tuesday it awarded the city of Adrian $2,866,446 in community development block grant funds for the Strongback project in downtown Adrian. The MSF works with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. in moving redevelopment efforts such as this forward.
