Morenci manufacturer gets $250,000 in state grant | The Daily Telegram

Kamco Industries, a manufacturing facility moving to Morenci, has received a $250,000 grant to help with job training for its 60 employees. Michigan was chosen by Kamco over other locations in the Midwest, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

The project expects to generate $22.7 million in private investment and create 60 jobs, according to a news release.

Jim Van Doren, Executive Director of Lenawee Now, wrote a letter regarding what this means for Lenawee.

Morenci, the First Step Into Pure Michigan, is Important to All of Us | Lenawee Now

Kamco Industries is moving into Morenci, Michigan with 60 new manufacturing jobs, further improving the recently announced 4.1% unemployment rate.

We are pleased to have been part of the process to secure Kamco $250,000 from the state to train its new employees and look forward to continually supporting the company.
