Adrian, MI – March 2, 2022 – Lenawee Now is pleased to announce Elements of Collaboration, an in-person event celebrating chemical companies creating powerful solutions in Lenawee County. Business leaders, government officials, and the public are invited to the event on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 5-7:30 PM at the Adrian Armory, 230 W. Maumee St., Adrian, MI 49221.
Leaders in the business of chemistry and local experts have joined together to solve a shared problem: growing their talent pipeline. At the event, you can learn about this unique collaboration and how this could be adapted across other industries from our expert panel and a presentation from the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
“You don’t often hear about companies coming together to collaborate like this,” stated Michael Ayre, Director of Human Resources at Wacker Chemical Company. “But those of us involved in this project recognized an opportunity. Working together to promote careers in our industry would strengthen employee attraction and retention while strengthening our industry as a whole.”
Networking will start at 5:00 PM, with the program beginning at 5:30 PM. The program will illustrate how these businesses came together, the successes they have experienced, and how the collaboration has benefited all the companies exponentially.
“It is quite exciting what is happening in Lenawee County,” said State Senator Dale Zorn, who will be moderating the event’s panel discussion. “The leaders in this industry, as well as workforce development partners, recognized the need for collaboration, and they are proactively working together to solve problems in our tightening labor market. I’m looking forward to moderating the expert panel and learning how this could be applied to other industries and in other regions in our great state of Michigan.”
