Details finalized for fair, festival at Michigan International Speedway Sept. 3–7 | The Daily Telegram

We’ve all been waiting, and the dates are released!

The first Big Mitten Festival at Michigan International Speedway has been confirmed. The festival’s website is http://bigmittenfair.com/, check it out!

“The fair will kick off Sept. 3 with a Celtic party hosted by Experience Jackson and featuring American Rogues, according to a news release. Americana music will be highlighted nightly with performances by The Wood Brothers and Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show fame. Big Rock Amusements will be presenting midways at both the “Big Mitten Way” and “Kids Go Zone.” A teen entertainment area is planned with a skate park, karaoke stage, recycling demos, a lounge area and photo shoots.” – The Daily Telegram

New statewide fair at Michigan International Speedway becomes a reality | MLive

An idea five years in the making is finally becoming a reality Sept. 3-7 atMichigan International Speedway.

“We’re excited they chose us and to add another huge event to MIS,” Roger Curtis, MIS President, said at a Monday, June 1 news conference. “Our goal has been to make MIS a year-round entertainment destination, and not only does this add to the economic development of the Irish Hills, but to the quality of life.”

 

Farmers market master opens carryout grocery store downtown | Adrian Today

Downtown Adrian hasn’t had a place to get groceries since The Pharm closed, and Ed Monday, Adrian Farmers Market expert, is looking to change that.

The Main Street Market will offer convenience foods and household staples as well as produce and locally raised meat— and it’s conveniently located across the apartment building that Adrian College just purchased.
