Lincoln Elementary School staff updates Adrian School Board on projects

AR-160429102The point of pride for the night shifted to the progress being made on the Sam and JoAn Beal Outdoor Education Center. In 2013, Adrian resident Sam Beal donated $30,000 as a legacy gift to help create the outdoor classroom, which includes the construction of a gazebo, pond, greenhouse and outdoor sitting area. Since 2013, work has progressed where, through a collaboration with the Lenawee Intermediate School District, students at the LISD Tech Center’s building trades program spent Friday building with elementary students raised bed planters made out of cedar.

Tecumseh Pops Orchestra celebrating 35 years of entertaining the community

AR-160429358The performance celebrating the TPO’s anniversary, complete with cake at intermission, takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students, and are available by calling 423-6617 or online at www.thetca.org.

Lenawee Now, Coordinator of the Adrian-Tecumseh SmartZone, Awarded $190K by Michigan Strategic Fund

100-anniversary-Lenawee-NowThe Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced that Lenawee Now, coordinator of the Adrian-Tecumseh SmartZone, has been approved for $190K to create a “gatekeeper” position and supporting programs over two years. This new staff person will be responsible for identifying, nurturing, and growing competitive-edge technology opportunities in Lenawee. Lenawee Now will manage this position and will work with SmartZone partners, Adrian College’s Innovation Center, and Ann Arbor SPARK to identify candidates for the new position.
