LISD TECH Center Gold Hammer Award Banquet 2017
Lights, Hammer, Action! The LISD TECH Center hosted its annual Gold Hammer Award Banquet last week. This ceremony first began in 1969 and is given to the top student who has participated in the Building Trades and Residential Construction program for two years.
Students nominated their four top choices for the award. Once approved by their instructors, the candidates are interviewed by a five-member advisory committee who ultimately determined the winner.
The candidates for this year’s award were Dakota Knieper of Addison High School, Randy McTaggart of Madison High School, Ariel Miller of Britton Deerfield High School, and Alex Pasley of Addison High School.
For the first time in the awards 48-year history a female student took the hammer home. Congratulations to Ariel Miller on winning the Gold Hammer Award!
