The Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) recently held its annual conference at which it presented the MEDA Medalist of the Year, President’s Award and MEDA Marketing Awards to outstanding economic developers and organizations. As MEDA’s highest award, the Medalist Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the profession of economic development, dedication to the growth of his or her community, and has a strong record of achievement over his or her career. There were four highly-qualified nominations for the award this year. The MEDA Board of Directors carefully reviewed the nominations to select this year’s recipient, Lenawee Now’s own Timothy Robinson.

Tim started his career in economic development in 1997 at the Washtenaw Development Council, which would later become Ann Arbor SPARK where he was Operations Manager, Vice President of Operations and then Executive Director for the SPARK Incubation Network. Today, he serves as the Director of Operations for the Lenawee Economic Development Corporation aka Lenawee Now. Tim is committed to the well-being of Lenawee County’s Communities and both personally and professionally engages in a broad array of activities, including the Center or Empowerment and Economic Development Micro-loan Program and the Lenawee ISD Advisory Committee on Advanced Manufacturing.

“Tim is a vital part of our team here at Lenawee Now. He is a driving force in helping to bring business to Lenawee, ensuring the success of the Lenawee County Land Bank, and in helping to further the overall economic development of Lenawee County,” said Jim Van Doren, Executive Director of Lenawee Now.

The Michigan Economic Developers Association has been a leader of economic development in Michigan for over 50 years. Consisting of members who strive to build and retain economic development in Michigan, MEDA makes it possible for professionals to do their job more effectively and efficiently.
