Whether it is the exhilarating rides, the fantastic food, the exciting entertainment or the chance to make fun family memories, there are so many reasons to visit the Lenawee County Fair. While you may be familiar with some of our yearly events, today we are sharing some things you may not know about our fair.

1. Cars and Bikes Will Be Cruising In

We’re kicking off fair week with our first ever Car and Bike Cruise, Sunday July 20th from 9 am – 5pm on the Midway.

2. It’s Our 175th Anniversary

The first Lenawee County Fair was in 1839, and provided the community with a way to celebrate the harvest, exhibit animals and display locally grown produce.

3. You Can Feast on 4H Chicken BBQ For Sunday Lunch

Enjoy a chicken BBQ lunch starting at 11 am Sunday at the 4H Center. Half chicken meals are only $9.

4. There’s Not One, But Two Figure 8 Demolitions

We have two great days to experience the roar of the engines and the smashing of metal, both Monday and Wednesday of fair week.

5. You Can Hear Music From the Radio Live

You’ve heard “Whiskey in My Water” on the radio, but now you can see Tyler Farr perform it live on July 24th. Other fun grandstand events include a concert by the popular Christian group Sanctus Real, exciting tractor and truck pulls and a Tuff Truck and Car Competition.

6. We Have Special Military Offers

Active duty US military men and women get free admission every day of the fair. Plus, Wednesday is Veteran’s day, when US military veteran’s can enjoy fair admission as no cost. (Military ID/Proof of Service Required)

7. You Can Visit New Babies

Stop by the Agricultural Education Tent to see “Mom’s” close to giving birth or new babies that have hopefully been born during fair week.

8. We Begin the Week with a Fun Parade

Our annual parade begins at 1:00 pm on College Avenue near Lenawee Recreation. It will move north to Maumee St., and where it continues until it gets to the main gate of the fairgrounds on Dean Street.

9. We’ve Set a State Record

We have the oldest consecutively run fair in all of Michigan. We have special events planned all week long in honor of our 175th anniversary.

10. We Celebrate With Fireworks

Enjoy our annual fireworks show on Saturday, July 26th after the Tuff Truck and Car Competition. It’s a great way to end fair week!

11. Senior Citizen’s Can Enjoy Free Admission

If you’re 65 or older, you get free admission on Senior Citizen’s Day, Thursday, July 24th.

12. You Can Bring Your Teddy Bear for Surgery

Students from MSU will be on hand to repair your well-loved Teddy Bear’s Thursday and Friday from 5-7 pm in the Agricultural Education tent.

13. We Have Many Varieties of Music All Week Long

You can hear the sweet sounds of The Motown Experience, Three Men and a Tenor, Dueling Pianos and the Scott Thompson Band for free at the Bandshell. More great entertainment is scheduled all week long.

14. You Can Enjoy Lots and Lots (and Lots) of Fantastic Food

We love fair food season, and we know you do too. So, stop by and enjoy an elephant ear, corn dog, steak, BBQ, ice cream, cotton candy, french fries, tacos…and the list goes on! The Lenawee County fair begins Sunday, July 20 and ends Saturday, July 26. See a full calendar of events at lenfair.com.
